Manuscript Submission Guidelines

BEFORE SENDING YOUR MANUSCRIPT TO BAAL HAMON PUBLISHERS, please check that:

1) It has a strong Christian theme - we are a Christian ministry and hence our preference is for books with strong Christian themes. Your book may be good but if it appears not to glorify Christ, it would not fit into our plans.

2) It has a clearly defined target audience -  many authors expect publishers to figure out from their works who they had in mind while writing a book. A competent author must know who is the intended audience for the book he has written.

3) It is properly formatted - we accept only email submissions in which the manuscript itself is sent as an attachment in Microsoft Word format. Please kindly do not submit manuscript or query by fax. All submissions must be by email.

4) It has been checked by a professional Christian editor or has passed through established Christian manuscripts critique service. We do not subscribe to manuscript reports from Writers Edge or ECPA First Edition or the Christian Communicator. But if your manuscript has not been checked by any of these three and by another professional Christian editorial service, you will have to pay US$20 manuscript assessment fee before our editors can review your submissions. A lot of resources is spent reviewing very poor submissions - and our best check against further wastage of time and resources is to insist on manuscripts that have been checked by professional Christian editors or have the author bear the cost of the review.

5) If your manuscript have passed through a professional Christian editor or any of Writers Edge , ECPA First Edition or the Christian Communicator , please include evidence of this with your submission otherwise please make a payment for our own manuscript critique using the button below and cite the receipt number in your submission.

6) Prepare a brief biographical sketch. This should be at most a page. It should show relevant credentials for writing the book.

7) Send us an email at submissions@baalhamon.com - with the following as attachments in Microsoft word format:

a) Sample chapters - the first chapter and not more than 2 other sample chapters.

b) A synopsis of the rest of the book

c) Biographical sketch.

d) Analysis of the target audience and market plan for the book.
